Gabriel Attoun’s Epic Score at RGPS St. Louis

Gabriel Attoun's Epic Score at RGPS St. Louis

High Stakes and Bigger Wins!

Just a few days back, our buddy Gabriel Attoun decided to turn the poker tables upside down at the RunGood Poker Series in St. Louis. He snagged himself the title in the $300 One Day NLH Ring Event, raking in $8,164 and earning his very first RGPS ring. But wait, the fun didn’t stop there!

Breaking Records and Making History

Fast forward to today, and Gabriel’s back in the spotlight with a jaw-dropping career score of $83,141 after dominating the $800 Main Event. He wrapped it up with a swift heads-up match against Bradley Young, giving him a run for his money!

Event Stats and The Showdown

Hosted by the Hollywood Casino St. Louis, this event was a hit, drawing a whopping 647 players—outdoing the 640 who showed up back in April for the Mission RunGood Series. After four intense starting flights on Day 1, only 77 players waddled their way back for the final showdown, each eyeing a slice of the massive $452,900 prize pool. And guess who strutted into Day 2 as the chip leader? Yep, you guessed it—Attoun!

Feeling on Top of the World

So, how did he feel after landing his biggest win ever? Gabriel quipped, “I’m feeling really great! There were definitely moments in the tournament where I thought I might be toast, but I got really lucky, especially with four or five players left. I just stopped losing!”

Pressure? What Pressure?

When asked about winning two RGPS rings in the same week, our man didn’t hold back, “Nothing compares to winning! I came, I played two tournaments, and I won them both—how lucky can one guy get?” But what about that pressure of being the chip leader? “Yeah, it’s a tad nerve-wracking. I was a bit on edge thinking, ‘Hey, I’d better make the final table!’”

Strategy and Good Vibes

As one of the more seasoned players sitting at the final table, Attoun was asked if his strategy shifted. He said, “There was at least one player I was super impressed with. Luckily, I was seated directly to his left, so I felt pretty confident against everyone else.”

The Turning Point

Things really heated up when Attoun eliminated Matthew Koch in fifth place. “The math was tight,” he explained. “I needed 33 percent, but I only had 20. Sometimes, you’ve gotta go with 20 percent and a dream, right?” Spoiler alert: it worked out!

Charging Ahead

From that point on, Gabriel capitalized on his experience during three- and four-handed play, being aggressively smart about his moves. He even knocked out Del Beiler in third place in a dramatic blind versus blind showdown, further stretching his chip lead.

Victory Lap

And as heads-up play kicked off, Attoun was a force to be reckoned with, taking out his challenger Young within just a handful of hands. With that, he not only took home some serious cash but also the coveted ring and, let’s not forget, a whole lot of glory!
