The Hooters
The Social

Revel Casino Hotel continues to reveal its exciting entertainment lineup for the Summer of 2014 announcing that The Hooters will be performing at The Social on Saturday, August 30th at 9 pm.
Named “best new band” of the year by Rolling Stone Magazine in 1985, The Hooters first came on the music scene in 1980 and introduced an original sound to Philadelphia clubs, combining ska, reggae, and rock and roll. Their independent album, "Amore" (1983), sold over 100,000 copies in the area. The band first achieved Platinum status with their 1985 Columbia album "Nervous Night" followed by other successful releases including "One Way Home" and "Out Of Body.”  As the band developed, so did the instrumentation, to include mandolins, accordion, recorder and mandola, as well as featuring the "hooter", a slang term for the melodica that added to the originality of the sound and became the graphic "logo" of the group.
Band co-founders Rob Hyman (vocals, keyboards) and Eric Bazilian (vocals, guitars) are both Grammy-nominated songwriters for the hits “Time After Time,” and “One of Us,” respectively, and have collaborated with singing stars such as Cyndi Lauper, Mick Jagger, Ricky Martin, Jon Bon Jovi, Carole King and Joan Osborne. Today the group, including drummer David Uosikkinen, guitarist John Lilley, bassist Fran Smith Jr. and touring guitarist Tommy Williams, continue to be home-grown rock and roll heroes who perform for a variety of audiences internationally.    For more information, go to
